Fines have been imposed at Dubai Airport’s Terminal 2
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) issued 52 fines in February this year for carrying passengers in unlicensed vehicles. The fines were issued at Dubai Airport’s Terminal 2, according to a senior official.
Saeed Al Balushi, Director of Monitoring Passenger Transport Activities, RTA, explained that there are two types of illegal transport.
“The first inspection operation was carried out from February 19 to 28, 2022, in collaboration with the General Directorate of Airport Security to monitor the activity of transporting passengers on vehicles without a permit. This resulted in the issuance of 52 violations at Dubai Airport Terminal 2,” said Saeed Al Balushi, Director of Monitoring Passenger Transport Activities at the Public Transport Agency, RTA.
“52 offenses were issued, including 41 offenses for carrying passengers on vehicles without a license and 11 offenses committed at the airport. The practice of carrying passengers on vehicles without a license has two aspects. The first concerns the use of unlicensed vehicles to transport passengers with no social relationship between the driver and the passengers, the driver collecting a fee against transporting passengers within the emirate or to other emirates.
“The second practice concerns the provision of passenger transport service, in which the elevator service is promoted as if it were a public transport service, either face-to-face or via social media. and various electronic platforms,” added Al Balushi.
