Pioneering developments in the growing market for unmanned aerial vehicles and electric VTOL aircraft
The German Unmanned Aviation Association (VUL) presents the entire range of innovative air mobility on the ILA STAGE Advanced Air Mobility
Air taxi pioneer Volocopter showcases the VoloCity at ILA
Berlin, April 1, 2022: Whether for rapid drug delivery, drone-assisted maintenance of wind farms, or as power air taxis, unmanned aerial systems and electric-powered vertical take-off (eVTOL) aircraft are revolutionizing aviation. This is why ILA Berlin is devoting an entire section of its stand to them: Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) presents the full range of these new forms of air mobility and the resulting services. Attention will be paid to all aspects of the eVTOL ecosystem, from aircraft to vertiports and digital requirements such as cybersecurity. Other areas covered include the commercial application of drones, their integration into the airspace, and methods of detecting and defending against drones.
Innovations from established system makers and startups
The Advanced Air Mobility exhibition at ILA will show how the full potential of air mobility can be harnessed and how some of the latest ideas may soon become reality. Exhibitors from around the world, ranging from manufacturers to research institutes, established system vendors and newly founded startups, will showcase their innovations. They will be joined by German air taxi company Volocopter, which will exhibit its VoloCity at the ILA.
Christian Bauer, CCO Volocopter“ILA Berlin 2022 is the perfect place for up-and-coming airlines like Volocopter. It allows us to connect with all the key industry and regulatory players, suppliers and talent to grow our UAM ecosystem. Accelerating towards certification and commercial launch, this is an important event to educate the general public about this new and exciting form of mobility.
Extensive program on the AAM stage
On the AAM stage, the German Unmanned Aviation Association (VUL), a joint initiative of the Aviation Association (BDL) and the German Association of Aerospace Industries (BDLI), will present all aspects unmanned flight. Where is the introduction of airspace for drones? What are the obstacles to the use of air taxis in European cities? How to detect the misuse of drones and what protective measures are available? These and other questions will be debated by experts on the AAM scene. The program will include high-level panels, keynotes and company presentations examining how to promote advanced air mobility and how to convince society of the benefits of such technology. The results of an identification survey of approval levels will also be presented exclusively: with this objective, the VUL conducts a survey of the population in Germany every two years to find out their attitude towards drones. and air taxis.
Leading aerospace trade show for sustainability, new technologies and innovation
Taking the slogan “Pioneering Aerospace”, ILA will take place from June 22 to 26, 2022 as an in-person event at the newly opened BER (Berlin Expo Center Airport). The leading high-tech industry fair for sustainability, new technologies and innovation is a meeting place for international industry, policy makers, the armed forces and science. High-ranking political figures are expected, including representatives of the new federal government, the German parliament and the European Commission.
Under the headings Aviation, Space, Defense & Security and Suppliers, ILA Berlin covers the entire value chain of the aerospace industry. Topics include climate-neutral aviation, new mobility and space security. An extensive program on the new ILA Digital platform will complement the live events.
