Goa assembly elections: All BJP mantris tainted and squandered Manohar Parrikar’s legacy, says Michael Lobo | Goa News

PANAJI: Calling all BJP ministers corrupt, former BJP Ports Minister Michael Lobo said they must be defeated in the upcoming assembly elections. Directly naming Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho and Panaji MP Atanasio Monserrate, Lobo said the BJP had lost sight of its ideals and wasted the legacy of former Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar.
Alleging that Maharashtra’s election taxi contract was a “massive scam”, Lobo directly blamed Godinho for allowing non-state taxis to operate in Goa while local taxi operators waited for business.
“There is a big scam in the taxi contract and for that the minister must be defeated,” Lobo said. “How can unmetered taxis come to Goa from Maharashtra? How did the electoral commission hire them when the rule states that only metered vehicles are allowed in the state of Goa? »
Lobo said the state has pushed taxi operators out of Goa. “If the BJP is to be cleaned up, then this minister must be defeated. Godinho and Monserrate are tainted and should not be elected. The people of Goa must understand that they are defiled ministers,” he said.
Lobo recently left the BJP and joined Congress and will contest the February elections as a candidate for Congress.
He expressed confidence in Congress’s chances in the upcoming elections and said the mistakes of 2017 would not be repeated.
“In the last election, Congress lost its members because there were five chief ministers and all of them wanted to be chief minister. After that, MPs got fed up and defected,” he said.
