John A. Yoder – Union County Daily Digital


John A. Yoder, 89, of Fredericksburg, died of Covid pneumonia at Pomerene Hospital in Millersburg on Friday, January 28, 2022. He was surrounded by loving family during his brief illness and passing. He was born on March 8, 1932 to the late Abraham and Anna (Miller) Yoder. John was a staunch member of the conservative Zion Mennonite Church. He enjoyed providing taxi service for the local Amish community. He is survived by his children Rhoda (Allen) Gingerich-Patterson of Plain City, Rebecca (late Mark) Beachy of Plain City, Judy (Paul) Kauffman of Baraga, Michigan, Edna (Ron) Stutzman of Plain City, Reuben Yoder of ‘Adair, Oklahoma, and Lisa Yoder of London, Ohio; his 28 grandchildren; his 54 great-grandchildren; and his sister Lizzie (late Yost) Miller of Walnut Creek. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife Arie Schlabach and his second wife Sara Schlabach; his son Jacob Yoder; and sons-in-law Mark Gingerich and Mark Beachy. Funeral services will be held at New Life Fellowship, 8570 CR 245, Holmesville on Tuesday, February 1 at 10 a.m. with Pastor Levi Miller officiating. Friends can call New Life Fellowship on Monday, January 31, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A second visitation will be held at Haven Fellowship, 7730 Converse Huff Rd., Plain City, on Tuesday, February 1 from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Haven of Rest Cemetery, 9550 TR 37, Plain City, on Wednesday, February 2 at 10 a.m. Visit to share a special memory or message with the family.
