Passenger takes taxi driver for free ride: Olmsted Township Police Blotter



Nothing like a free ride: Columbia Road

Police attended Family Dollar at 9.14am on February 19 in relation to a woman who took a taxi to the store but failed to pay the driver. The taxi driver told the police that the customer had no money and refused to pay.

Police found the woman inside the store withdrawing funds from the ATM to pay for the ride. She paid the driver after receiving money from the ATM. Everyone then left the place.

Property found: Cook Road

Police attended a residence at 11:24 a.m. on February 19 regarding a bicycle. The Complainant told them that a bicycle had been on their property for several days. They didn’t know who it belonged to. The whistleblower then took the bike to the police station for safekeeping.

Unruly Juvenile: Timber Lane

Police attended a residence at 2:28 p.m. on February 19 regarding a teenager who had left the house in a friend’s car without permission.

Officers saw the reported car in the area and located the teen inside. She said she left home due to an argument with her parents over being allowed to spend the night at a friend’s house.

She was sent home without further incident.

Welfare Check: Bagley Road

Police attended a house at 2.39am on February 20 where a man allegedly threatened his stepson. They spoke with the child’s mother, who had just arrived at the scene.

After speaking with all parties involved, it was determined that a text message had been taken out of context. Everyone involved said they felt comfortable at home for the evening.
