Star Navigation Systems Group Ltd. Announces Memorandum of Understanding with WheelTug plc

BRAMPTON, Ontario, 01 Dec. 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – Star Navigation Systems Group Ltd. (CSE: SNA) (CSE: SNA.CN) (“Star” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) with WheelTug plc, the innovative company electric taxis.

The MOU will see the companies cooperate in the collection and analysis of data collected by Star’s on-board technology and WheelTug Vision, the network of cameras that complements the main WheelTug electric taxi system. The goal is to maximize the benefits that WheelTug generates for airlines. Star’s solution provides operators, owners, insurers and even ATC with access to granular information on flight operations.

Debuting on a Boeing 737NG in early 2023, the WheelTug electric taxi system is installed in the nose gear of the aircraft. WheelTug will allow the pilot to perform airplane maneuvers in ramp areas without using jet engines or connecting a tug. This will allow individual flights to become faster, safer and more environmentally friendly, as efficiency gains expand across the airline network.

Amir Bhatti, CEO of Star, said: “The collaboration with WheelTug allows us to focus on greener flight and ground operations. Our solution tracks eight (8) critical data streams, including the flight data recorder, and provides intelligent analytics. It’s exciting to be able to offer door-to-door diagnostics and forecasts to customers. “

Isaiah Cox, CEO of WheelTug, said: “Our system will dramatically increase airlines’ efficiency in boarding areas, and we look forward to showing our airlines the quality data and analysis provided by Star in order to ‘illustrate exactly how WheelTug improves these operations. “
