ATLANTA (CBS46) — A taxi van suspected of being linked to a fatal shooting was discovered in a parking lot in southwest Atlanta, police told CBS46.

The vehicle was spotted by a parking attendant on Trinity Avenue. The attendant said he noticed the van and saw someone get out of the vehicle.

The Atlanta Police Department said Thursday it was looking for a taxi that was stolen after its driver was fatally shot.

Police say officers responded to a report of a person being shot at around 4:45 a.m. on Feb. 15 in the 400 block of Centennial Olympic Park Drive NW.

The victim was taken to hospital but died from his injury.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the victim was a taxi driver and that she arrived at the scene shortly before being shot dead by an unknown person.

Investigators determined that the shooter left the scene in the victim’s taxi, but abandoned him shortly after.
