Two injured in impaired driving accident on Route 111 [Indian Wells, CA]


Multi-vehicle crash on Club Drive leaves at least four injured

INDIAN WELLS, Calif. (August 10, 2022) – On Friday afternoon, two victims were hospitalized following a suspected impaired accident on Route 111.

The multi-car crash happened around 1:45 p.m. near Club Drive on July 29. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly thereafter.

Reports say four vehicles were involved in a chain reaction accident, although the events leading up to the collision remain unknown.

Eventually, paramedics transported two people with minor to moderate injuries to a nearby hospital. Meanwhile, two others refused to receive medical treatment.

For the moment, the identity of the people involved in the accident has not been made public. Much of the roadway has been temporarily closed to allow for cleaning and preliminary work.

Additionally, authorities suspected the driver of the white Ford utility vehicle of driving under the influence. At this time, an active investigation is underway. California Highway Patrol officials will post updates as they become available.
